Spring 2018 is looking bright and bold. Spring collections typically include ethereal hues, romantic floral pieces, draped garments and flowing fabrics. However the 2018 spring fashion trends include maximalist, Avant-garde, Americana, cowboy chic, and more. The spring fashion season will be a fun yet unexpected departure from the norm.

Yellow

Yellow tops, jumpsuits, dresses, blazers and skirts are all over the runways. There are plenty of ways to introduce this vivid hue to your wardrobe in a subtle way. A lightweight gauze scarf, in a mustard yellow color, adds lightness to the face and a playful pop of color. A pastel yellow t-shirt can be worn under a jean jacket and paired with sandals and Bermuda shorts for a casual spring look.

Americana/Western Wear

The Olympics are in full gear and patriotic apparel hit the runways with full force. The American spirit is represented with a wide array of red, white and blue clothing and accessories. The Americana trend is back in a big way for spring 2018, including striped midi dresses, star-printed scarves, and red and white and blue tube dresses with feather-like fringe.

Windbreakers/Anorak Jackets

This season’s anoraks and windbreakers are bold and bright including solid colors and prints. They feature chunky silhouettes and functional pieces for outerwear apparel.

Glam Jeans

Spring designer jean collections feature a plethora of denim inspo. This season’s denim trends are dolled up, bedazzled and full of bling. From hand-painted floral prints to Swarovski crystals and sequins, this season’s denim pieces will easily take you from day into night. Pair an embellished pair of jeans or a jacket with a simple white t-shirt and basic leather sandals to balance this fashion-forward look.

Monochromatic

Head-to-toe tonal looks appeared in virtually every designer collection during the spring 2018 shows. Boxy pantsuits, off-the-shoulder silk dresses, simplistic and minimal aesthetics are making a strong style statement. Many of the monochromatic looks featured are in bold colors. You can also incorporate this trend into your wardrobe with neutral or subdued hues.

Sheer Garments

There was a barely-there feeling on the runway during the spring fashion shows. Lingerie was showcased as a mainstream fashion trend including sheer tops, pants, dresses and skirts. There are subtle ways to incorporate this trend without feeling like you are on display. A sheer button-down shirt can be paired with a cotton camisole and skinny jeans to reflect the current trend. Sheer fabrics can also add a soft and romantic vibe to an all-black outfit.

Bold Patterns/Abstract Prints

For the bold fashionista who loves prints, many designers showcased dresses and tops with mixed prints and patterns and abstract designs during the spring 2018 fashion shows. Dots were paired with stripes and Aztec prints in a seamless way. From evening wear to casual accessories, bold patterns were showcased in a wide variety of ways proving one thing; mixing and matching prints and patterns is back in a big way.

Satin

Silky and sumptuous satin dresses, tops and skirts were a mainstay on the runways this season. Many of the designers added playful and feminine details to these luxurious- pieces of couture. Ruching, puffy shoulders, bell sleeves and pleats add allure to these silky pieces.

Transitioning away from the winter style trends will be relatively easy thanks to the abundance of choices, inspiring looks and fashion-forward trends. Whether you love bold colors and patterns or prefer a more subdued look, there are a plenty of new trends to liven up your wardrobe this season.
