For four weekends, the East End celebrates local music, vineyards and craft breweries, kicking off with a party on Friday, Feb. 23, at the Indigo Hotel in Riverhead with music by the East End Trio and Keith Sloane. Highlights include performances by Bakithi Kumalo and Friends on Saturday, Feb. 24, Blue Oyster Cult on Friday, March 2, and the Billboard Live Band on March 10. The festival runs weekends Feb. 22-March 18 and also features tours and lodging packages. Admission: Free-$65 for concerts
Get a run in and enjoy the fall flora of Riverhead’s Indian Island County Park while supporting two important groups: the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference and the Riverhead High School Cross Country Team Booster Club. The Indian Island Trail 5-kilometer and 15k is 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 Check-in starts at 7 a.m. A three-person, 15k relay race also is an option.
