Motor Mania opens on Saturday, September 29 with a parade of 100 Pontiac Firebird Trans Ams to honor fallen Hollywood film icon, heartthrob and classic car collector Burt Reynolds died of a heart attack this month at age 82. Motor Mania New York’s largest Classic Car Weekend Meet Up is expected to draw thousands of car lovers and dozens of drivers dressed up as Reynolds’ Bo (Bandit) Darville character. Ford owners enjoy a All-Ford Stampede, featuring Mustangs and other Ford-powered vehicles, a one-day car show. This is an owner-judged car show, with trophies to first-, second- and third-place winners John Clor, Ford Performance enthusiast communications manager from Detroit is also making a special guest appearance. To kick off the outdoor car show season, Long Island Cars is rounding up more than 400 classics, customs, collectible and exotic models, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at the PennySaver Amphitheater in Farmingville. Hundreds of vendors will be selling car-related items — parts, accessories and memorabilia. The family-friendly event also features food vendors and live music.
