Grab your hat and head to Northport’s LaMantia Gallery to enjoy the opening reception of “The Art of Dr. Seuss Rare Editions,” 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and noon-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. Leroy and Loretta Lockhorn and the aptly named St. Bernard, Howard Huge, have entertained readers for decades. The bickering long-married Lockhorns and the affable oversized pet are the comic strip stars in a new exhibition at The Heckscher Museum of Art honoring the work of Long Island comic creators Bill and Bunny Hoest. The Lockhorns meet Howard Huge: Comic Cartoons by Bill & Bunny Hoest is on view October 6 to November 5, 2017.
