Indecent at EastLine Theatre
Indecent recounts the events surrounding the conception, censorship, and afterlife of ‘The God of Vengeance’ a 1907 Yiddish play that featured Broadway’s first lesbian kiss. This story of ‘a little Jewish play’, speaks of a people as they tried to live and how they wanted their stories to be told. Join HMTC for a program that marks the opening of a new art exhibition. Hear from the artist as she describes her career, connection to the Holocaust, and her approach to art. The exhibition will showcase over 30 works by the acclaimed Nassau County artist Tmima whose art has been shown in hundreds of exhibitions around the world. Join acclaimed silver artist Michael Galmer as he is interviewed by his grand-daughter about his sculpture “Tears of the Holocaust,” which he donated to HMTC in 2017, and participate in a Q&A with him about his process and his approach to the Holocaust. “Tears of the Holocaust” is inspired by Galmer’s grandchildren’s queries about the meaning of the Holocaust; it depicts the rebirth, regrowth, and strengthening that follows tragedy.
