It’s not easy to find this tucked away location for Setauket Pita House in the Heritage Square office park, unseen from Route 25A and tucked behind the Wild by Nature in East Setauket. However, it has become a North Shore destination for Turkish-Mediterranean Cuisine. Pita House is enjoying their 10th year in Setauket. Their popularity has been achieved by serving only the freshest and highest quality ingredients with a taste that is all there own. If you haven’t dined here, your in for a treat.

Expect to find your favorites like crispy and savory spinach pie, meze (cold appetizers), hummus (chick-pea dip), a lively charred eggplant and vegetable salad, pan-fried eggplant, tabbouleh (bulgur salad with parsley), ezme (a spicy mixture of chopped vegetables and walnuts), haydari (an herbal yogurt, sour cream and walnut dip). All you have to do is add a bottle of wine, warm pita bread and good friends to start.

You’ll find chicken kebab is juicy and well seasoned over a bed of rice featuring large grilled cubes of marinated white-meat. If you’re a gyro lover you came to the right place to enjoy our house-made lamb and beef gyros, the spiced meat formed in-house into a large cylinder that’s rotisserie-grilled and then sliced. Try the Iskender gyro kebab, the meat is served over pan-fried pieces of pita and topped with two sauces, a tomato sauce and warm yogurt sauce. Adana kebab with a tomato-tinged bulgur pilaf, Beyti kebab as a sandwich, the meat rolled into pita with onions, tomato and lettuce with yogurt sauce. Another specialty of the house is grilled whole sea bass. It is a delicate fish seasoned with lemon, garlic and fresh herbs.
