Flight Experience Returns to Farmingdale’s Republic Airport June 27, 2026
The first, and still one of its
kind unique historical flight
experience programs that pairs
participants with Living Historian
re-enactors, who take you back in
time with realistic, heart-pounding
experiences about the mission of
courageous Airborne troops who were
the fi rst to land in occupied Europe on
D-Day, as well as the C-47 Aircraft and
Pilots that fl ew into perilous skies to
liberate Europe, marking the beginning
of the end for Nazi Germany.
This is an immersive 1.5-hour program
that begins with gearing up with our
Living Historians, taking part in an
authentic D-Day mission briefi ng, then
boarding the legendary WWII C-47 as a
paratrooper with our Living Historians
as guides. Your fl ight of about 25
minutes will take you over the Long
Island shores that mimic the beaches
of Normandy. You’ll hear the sounds
of what it was like to fl y the “Skytrain.”
You’ll be able to view the Aircrew
stations, see the Pilots and Navigator in
action, engage with Living Historians
in open Q&A during the fl ight.
Once back at Hangar 3, you’ll de-plane
and can take photos with your crew and
fellow paratroopers, plus have extra
Q&A time post fl ight. A memorable,
once in a lifetime experience for
history buffs or someone wishing to
honor a loved one who fl ew or jumped
from the legendary C-47 “Skytrain.”

participant to bring one guest, who
can watch the fl ights plus visit our
exhibits all day, for FREE. For folks
who want to visit AAM on June 27th,
just to watch each fl ight and tour the
museum, regular admission is $18 for
adults, $15 for seniors and veterans,
$12 for children ages 3-12. Children
under 3 are FREE. AAM members,
active military, guard and reserves are
FREE with ID.
