Remsenburg Marina is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our 2nd annual fundraiser and blood drive to remember Roy William Bartel. To be held June 22nd, 2019 from 9am to 4pm. There will be food and a complimentary Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel Safety Check.
In October 2015, Roy, at the age of 33, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After a twenty month battle he passed away June 21st, 2017. Roy was an employee and member of the Remsenburg Marina owner’s family, he was also a cherished son, brother, and husband.
Last year we hosted a blood drive for New York Blood Center (NYBC) and fundraiser for Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS). Through that event and private donations, we raised over $35’000 for LLS and generated 50 blood donations during a time when NYBC had declared an emergency blood shortage.
