MEADOWBROOK WOMEN’S INITIATIVE
An organization of mostly retired women with membership
spanning all of Nassau County with some in Suffolk and
Queens. MWI is an outgrowth of the National Brandeis Women’s
organization; we branched off into our own
501c(3) in 2009, when we decided to keep our
fundraising money on LI, where we have all chosen
to live for many years and where there are so
many lesser-known charities that need assistance.
We maintained the education component by connecting
with the then-newly established Zucker
School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, which
has been included in our by-laws.
