to the National Safety Council, evening rush
hours, which is generally considered to be between 4
p.m. and 7 p.m. on weeknights, is a dangerous time
to be on the road due to increased traffic. But drivers
should know that evening rush hour is not the only
time when it’s dangerous to be on the road, particularly
in summer. According to the NSC, fatal crashes
peaked between 8 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. in the spring
and summer of 2023. That’s something road trippers
can keep in mind, particularly if they’re planning
lengthy trips and aspiring to drive as many hours as
possible in the hopes of arriving to their destinations
as quickly as possible. By avoiding driving between
the hours of 4 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., drivers can steer
clear of traffic jams and avoid times of day when
driving is most dangerous.
