8 WAYS TO EXHIBIT
RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR
Treating others with respect
is part of living and thriving
in a civilized society. Many
things go into being respectful, including
treating others with understanding
and kindness. If lessons
regarding respect for others are
easily forgotten, then these eight
ways to exhibit respectful behavior
can be a great reminder of the
utility and significance of treating
others nicely.
1. Active listening: It is important
to pay attention to what other people
are saying and show genuine
interest when they are speaking.
Ask questions and fully engage in
discussions.
2. Be courteous: It is polite to use
greetings such as "good morning"
or "good evening" when addressing
people, and using formal names
when meeting people, unless they
advise you otherwise.
3. Consider your words: Always
think before you speak, and consider
the reaction your words may
elicit. Be particularly cautious when
discussing sensitive topics.
4. Embrace empathy: Try to understand
share in what they are experiencing.
5. Acknowledge others: Whether
you are in a place of management
or power, or just in everyday interactions,
