August 21, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

HMTC marks the anniversary of the Nat Turner Rebellion with “Resistance Under Brutal Authority: Nat Turner’s Rebellion and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising,” a virtual presentation by historian Thorin Tritter, HMTC’s Museum and Programming Director. Dr. Tritter will discuss Nat Turner’s Rebellion along with the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising as examples of resistance that was launched despite the expectation of brutal retaliation. What inspired these acts of resistance, what led those involved to fight against domination, and how do we remember them today?
