How Museums Teach the Holocaust: A Brief Overview

June 12, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$10

A lecture presentation by Dr. Linda F. Burghardt, Scholar-in-Residence, Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center.

Field trips to Holocaust centers often stand out as highlights of the school year. But how do program directors, facilitators and docents at the centers determine what material to present, how best to engage the students and how to make their programs most effective? Dr. Linda Burghardt recently performed an in-depth study among several prominent Holocaust centers in the U.S. and will share her findings at this talk. How do we at the HMTC compare? Most favorably!

Dr. Linda Burghardt, the Scholar-in-Residence at the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center, is a journalist and author from Great Neck, N.Y. She worked as a freelance reporter for The New York Times for 20 years and is the author of three non-fiction books. Her articles and essays have appeared in newspapers across the U.S., and she has lectured to both national and international audiences. She holds a Ph.D. from LIU Post and is the daughter of Holocaust survivors from Vienna.

$10 suggested donation. Please RSVP to info@hmtcli.org or (516) 571-8040.
