30 Hour Famine

The youth of Holy Cross Lutheran Church (307 Hawkins Avenue, Lake Ronkonkoma) are participating in the annual 30 Hour Famine starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2020 and concluding the next day, Sunday, February 16, 2020 with a brunch at 11:30 am. The 30 Hour Famine is sponsored by World Vision, an organization that partners with communities throughout the world to address immediate food needs and equip them with the skills necessary to grow their own food for the long term.

On Famine weekend, participants experience hunger for themselves by going 30 hours without food. World Vision provides loads of activities to help make this a totally fun, educational, and life-changing experience. Some of the activities include making sandwiches for the homeless, collecting food donations at supermarkets in the Ronkonkoma area, and collecting food donations door-to-door in the neighborhood around the church.

This event will be held from Saturday, February 15, 2020 through Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 307 Hawkins Avenue, Lake Ronkonkoma, New York 11779.
